Obscura Day is an Atlas Obscura tradition where the whole team takes a day off to explore—whether it’s a nearby hidden gem or a distant, wondrous site. Check out the places our team visited.

My son and I went in search of a legendary piece of Boston guerrilla art. Back in 2006, a professor from MassArt installed a U-shaped bench—a bench with two backs—along a path near Jamaica Pond. The parks department, assuming it was a prank, promptly removed it. But then they realized it was kind of awesome, and brought it back. A small victory for a more a wonderful world.
