Sovjet Ereveld (Soviet Field of Honor) in Leusden, Netherlands

A museum tells their story.

A prominent section of the Rusthof Cemetery in Leusden, the Netherlands is dedicated to fallen soldiers who fought for the Soviet Union in World War II. Here lie mostly soldiers who fought near Amersfoort or were captured by the enemy.

The cemetery can be visited free of charge, and there is a museum within walking distance in which the stories of the soldiers and the remaining relatives are told, including a virtual reality experience. The field of honor and the museum feature many oft-forgotten stories of war.
